Sweet 16

So I had the big Sweet 16! I can now get my permit which I am super duper excited about!
I am currently writing this post in the midst of a huge storm where the power keeps flickering on and off every few seconds. For this reason, I'm keeping it short and sweet.

By the way I now have a facebook account for my blog which you can "like" if you want to! here

So about 2 weeks ago I had a couple friends over for my birthday and we just had carrot cake cupcakes and played badminton.

On my actual birthday however, I woke up singing happy birthday to myself as I walked down the stairs and my mom gave me a huge hug.

Remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday? Today I took the layer I didn't finish, stuck it in the blender with some glugs of orange juice, a quick splash of maple syrup, and ice cubes. I blended it up and it became an amazing purple birthday smoothie! (I approximated all of the ingredients so use as much as you want!)

Then I watched Big Brother, which if you haven't seen yet, go watch it now, It's an amzing TV show!!

I read the Memory Keepers Daughter for a few hours (and finished it!) until some of my friends arrived and we walked over to Starbucks for a birthday drink.

I ordered a vanilla bean frapaccino (my favorite Starbucks drink)

I wore very baggy overall shorts which I am just absolutely  obsessed with! (also #farmerstan!)

We went swimming when we got back since it was so unbelievably hot outside. The sunset looked beautiful.

I had an amazing Sweet 16 and I'm looking forward to a great year full of laughs with my friends!

Healthy Breakfast

So I've been "trying" to eat healthier by eating more fruits and veggies this summer. I have to say its been going great. I'm also trying to find other forms of exercise since I can no longer run at this point. Swimming and bike riding have become my best friends over the past few weeks.

So a couple days ago I made a super cool, yummy, and healthy breakfast. This is what was inside.

I added a handful of blueberries and raspberries.

Put it in a bowl and layered yogurt on top of it. I made two layers and it was way to much food! This stuff is filling. I barely made it through the first! You'll see what I did with the rest of it in another blog post really soon :)

The finish product! It sure was yummy and a super healthy way to start of my day!
